Dealer notes

Zoom Classic Cars presents this 1950 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Restomod Pickup, Fuel-Injected 350 V8 with 4L60E Overdrive and built on a Sonoma Chassis. Classic 1950s Chevrolet styling meets modern drivability. Built by a lifelong mechanic, this distinctive truck combines the timeless looks of Chevrolet\'s iconic Advance-Design pickup with modern chassis engineering, a rebuilt fuel-injected 350ci V8, an overdrive automatic transmission, and a host of comfort and convenience upgrades. Originally a solid, rust-free Florida truck, this Chevrolet retains its all-steel body and unmistakable vintage character while benefiting from a comprehensive mechanical transformation. The truck\'s body was intentionally left with its existing patina creating the old-school appearance that many traditional truck enthusiasts appreciate. The result is a great-looking classic pickup that delivers the visual appeal of a vintage Chevrolet with the practicality and drivability of a much more modern vehicle. Power comes from a completely rebuilt, fuel-injected 350ci Chevrolet V8 featuring a four-bolt-main block. The engine was assembled with new components, including a water pump, radiator, starter, and electric cooling fan, providing a fresh mechanical foundation for this custom build. The engine is paired with a newly rebuilt GM 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. This combination delivers familiar small-block Chevrolet performance with the added convenience of automatic shifting and reduced engine RPM during highway cruising. Rather than retaining the original vintage truck chassis, the builder installed the body on a 2000 Chevrolet Sonoma frame, bringing a more modern foundation to the project. The truck is equipped with power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, and air conditioning that blows cold and heat. An emergency brake is also fitted. The all-steel body panels are solid throughout, reflecting the truck\'s rust-free Florida origins. The intentionally preserved patina gives this Chevrolet an authentic, well-earned vintage appearance without the overly restored look of a freshly painted show truck. A new tailgate adds a fresh detail while complementing the traditional styling. Additional improvements include new glass and new rubber weather stripping. The cargo bed features beautiful new cedar wood, providing a warm contrast to the aged exterior finish and creating an attractive, functional bed that suits the truck\'s traditional character. As an added vintage touch, the battery has been relocated and is conveniently installed within the vintage Coca Cola Cooler mounted securely in the bed. The truck rides on black-painted Chevrolet steel wheels fitted with new Hankook 225/75R15 tires at all four corners, completing its understated, traditional pickup look. The interior has been completely renewed in attractive tan upholstery, including a two-tone cloth-and-vinyl bench seat, matching door panels, and a new headliner. The cabin retains the straightforward character of a classic Chevrolet pickup while incorporating modern amenities for more comfortable driving. Features include new Dolphin gauges, a complete wiring system, and heating and ventilation controls sourced from a 1995 GMC pickup. An AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary connection is discreetly mounted inside the glovebox, while an additional USB charging port is installed beneath the dashboard.Air conditioning adds another welcome convenience, making this vintage-styled truck more enjoyable during warmer weather and longer drives. The underside is very clean and solid, with a fully painted frame and a 10-bolt rear axle assembly. A full-size spare tire is mounted underneath the truck, and the exhaust system features a single-exhaust configuration. The combination of its modernized chassis, rebuilt drivetrain, power-assisted steering and brakes, and updated electrical and interior systems makes this a compelling alternative to a traditional stock 1950 Chevrolet pickup. This custom-built 1950 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window Restomod offers a particularly appealing blend of traditional truck styling and modern mechanical convenience. Its preserved patina, solid all-steel body, cedar bed, fuel-injected V8, overdrive automatic transmission, and updated chassis make it an excellent choice for someone seeking a distinctive vintage pickup to enjoy on local drives, weekend outings, and highway trips. Currently stored in Massachusetts. The truck is scheduled to be transported back to Florida at the end of October 2026.
